Whilst sitting here writing this blog is probably not the best time to write about the crossing from the island of Ustica to Sardinia. I can honestly say it was one of my worst times experienced at sea. After an early start and a long motor over very flat sea everything was looking good. It's was to be how you say the lull before the storm. William and I had just finished our watch and handed over to Doug at 03.00. We had been watching a thunderstorm in the distance and it showed us some amazing lightning which lite up the sky. The next 8 hours we were hit by high seas and wind not to ever be repeat d I hope!!!.
Thanks to Dougs calm nerve and excellent handling of the boat we arrived safely on the south coast of Sardina.
