La Rochelle bound
Well the weather window appeared to open up today
and we left Ria de Vivero at 07.30 with 3 options, Ria de Ribadeo, Gijon or,
optimistically La Rochelle.
Having motored for 3 hours in next to no wind we
took another weather file, and turned North!
We are now 225 miles from La Rochelle and have had
a lovely sail since 11.30 (its now 20.15) and currently we are doing 7 to 7.5
knots in the right direction
Yippee!!!
After days of North Easterlies on the nose this is
heaven !
We have the Nr.3 jib and a reefed main with the
wind on the beam.
We hope to be in La Rochelle somewhere around
Friday lunchtime - which would suit Graham as he has flight to Leeds on
Saturday....
It would also suit Tony and the Skipper to have a
couple of days rehab....
This evening we have been accompanied by a small
pod of Dolphins, who stayed around for about 1/4 of an hour -
wonderful.
This was followed by a gourmet meal of diced
chicken and rice concocted by the skipper - well the crew said they liked it!
(better than nothing)
More in due course
