Last night we enjoyed a superb paella in
Bayona at El Tunel restaurant.
The overnight rain has cleared for a bright clear
day.
Our good fortune continues. We slipped anchor at
1105 and motored
out of the bay until midday hoisting the main
and number 3 jib
turning ever southwards towards Viana do
Castelo and Portugal.
Dolphins galore today, we may have seen ten in
total but of course
they could well have been the same dolphins
revisiting us on a regular basis.
So we are logging a total of 6 today and 6
yesterday for a running total of 12!
Sparkling seas, 15kts wind from behind us,
strengthening to perhaps
20 kts by late afternoon. Quite a heavy roll from
the north east produced
a 3m swell, but the combined delights of dolphins,
dire straits on the radio
from Spanish Kiss FM, local cheese and ham for lunch, seabird sightings
and a couple of yachts at sea; all of these made the swell irrelevant.
At 3pm we gybed and headed directly for the
entrance and swing-bridge
at Viana, where we were enthusiastically greeted by
marina staff who seemed
genuinely pleased to see us.
Graeme's picture - at last a confirmed dolphin
sighting - sadly fell off the
page
because of last-minute email probs, but will be
posted on our
site as soon as possible
Who knows what tomorrow holds- Perhaps an
overnighter,
perhaps another day here..We'll update you
soon.
