Departure postponed till tomorrow.

Candida

Just when we had hoped finally to escape the
clutches of Cascais, delightful though it has been here, we examined the 'Grib'
files downloaded
on the internet. These are an excellent source of
up to date weather maps available from the US, one of the most respected by
sailors.
Although Candida is ready and so are her crew, a
forecast storm in the Atlantic and the lateness of the day persuaded us to
postpone our departure
until early tomorrow morning, when we would at
least have 12 hours of daylight ahead of us, come what may. So another quiet
afternoon is
spent in and around Cascais, the weather a cool 14C
and 100 per cent grey cloud. Let's hope our migration gets underway
tomorrow.
We hope to leave about 7am, with 600 miles to run
to Lanzarote, 5-7 days assuming fair breeze. In the meantime there is still
tome for some last-
minute planning and fitting out.

Lanzarote
![]() Nurse Christine applies a Scopoderm
anti-seasickness patch to Geoff.

facilitator.
We hope to market this to Henri Lloyd or
Musto.

I Vegetable net which he and Geoff have
just fitted.
END OF TODAY'S REPORT.
