Yesterday (Wednesday) Nick and I left L'Aberwrac'h
after a slightly leisurely breakfast - enjoying the bright
sunshine.
Not much wind to start with, so we motored again
for a couple of hours, then the breeze kicked in and we had 'Champagne sailing'
for the rest of the day.
We actually got the spinnaker up! The first time
since leaving Yarmouth in August last year.
We seldom dropped under 7 knots mostly around
8.
Near to Les Sept Iles the wind went round forcing a
gybe - thus we dropped the kite, and then with a boomed out nr 2 and the main
we wereback up to 8 knots - surfing upto 11......
We carried the breeze, and the tide, all the way to
Treguier where we arrived at 7.30 have sailed through the lower reaches at
double the speed limit!
Quite the best day's sailing of the trip sofar -
and a great day for Nick to get during his week.
We have decided to have a day off today so will
stay here and explore the town a bit, and then go across to Jersey
tomorrow.
The photo gives an idea of the day - just perfect
(well except for the skipper!)
