So it all didn't go quite as planned. We left our marina berth, all psyched
up to briefly fill up with fuel, get our exit papers from the marina office,
and the be off on our grand adventure. Fuel was all good, but we then
discovered that today is the Kings birthday which means everything is closed
including the marina office. No exit papers, meant no go, but we decided to
go out for a little day sail just as a shake-down and help us get our sea
legs. It was fairly bumpy and breezy (gusting up to 30 knots), but Allegria
coped admirably. We had a few shenanegans with the keel, sorted quite
easily, but discovered that the water maker was not working which is a bit
more fundamental. Peter and Paul have spent several hours in the bowels of
the boat trying to fix it and think they have got to the bottom of the
problem. Spare parts need to sourced, so that's tomorrow's job.
