189 miles in the last 25 hours as we put the ships clock back another hour.

Yes Allegria is performing like a star, everything is working beautifully - touch wood. We have been sailing now for the last few days with a wind speed averaging 20 knots. Nothing below about 15 and up to 29 knots, and hence we have been achieving really good daily distances. The size of the waves seem to come and go but are generally getting bigger, probably up to 3 metres at present. They are forecast to increase today. The sail plan is 'wing on wing' where we have both headsails held out with the poles, one on either side of the boat. Rolling is continuous with quite frequent dramatic rolls. Definitely need to hang on at all times.
The weather is warming up gradually although we are all complaining that it is rather cool, some people are never satisfied. Considering we are only 4 degrees north of the latitude of northern Antigua which we will go round as we approach Jolly Harbour, our destination of choice, we were hoping for better. Everything is relative as I'm sitting in the cockpit in shorts and tee shirt. We have seen a few flying fish today which I think must indicate the tropics. Also a few traces of sargasso weed which is a worry to see that already. Peter.
