So Saturday night brought us another Light Show enhanced by 2 short, sharp and very heavy showers.  Surprisingly warm after they had gone through. Sunday dawned blue skies and sunshine and the crew are still in shorts and T shirts.  We got some nice sailing in today, but  two of us are still awaiting delivery of  our sealegs and movement around the boat presents a challenge at times. All sailing has been on a close reach so there is considerable heel on the boat. Living at 45 degrees can be difficult.
Dinner done and dusted [chicken curry for those interested] and we were getting ready to settle down when a teeny worry happened when the wind dropped and we decided to motor.  The engine ran but then stopped but an issue of air in the filters quickly fixed...so not a peaceful nights sail so far but fingers crossed. Skipper  celebrated engine fix by spilling 2 consecutive cups of tea over the cockpit...we have put him to bed until he needs to be up for the midnight watch.

Sunday morning. The wind has picked up nicely and veered somewhat so we are now sailing on a broad reach (wind more behind, boat more upright) and making good progress. These first few days have been slow due to the light winds, as expected, and we have sailed quite a bit south mainly to take advantage of favourable eddies in the gulf stream and to get south of some strong winds which are expected very soon. We are headed towards a point at 34degs 40 N and 66degs W which seems to have significance for our guru. He has certainly been good up to now so we are following his guidance closely.

For anyone interested the problem with the genoa the other night was an almighty riding turn on the furling line. In the end easily sorted.
