Left Othonoi on 8 May and found idyllic
anchorage on north-east coast of Corfu at Kouloura. Swimming has
started! Water is a bit cold initially but soon feels fine (if a little
refreshing). Greek taverna in Agni bay was fantanstic as are the local
breakfasts of natural yoghurt, honey and sometimes nuts.
Visited Corfu town on Sunday 10 May. It is
Venetian in architecture and a clean, attractive town. It was very lively
with all the bars and tavernas full with Greek families.
Allan's last evening on board was spent back at
Kouloura with a fantastic display of fireflies marking the
occassion. Dropped Allan on Monday 11 May at Corfu town, before
going south to Petriti for lunch. Across to mainland Greece for evening at
Sivota Mourtas which was a settled anchorage behind some islands but
unfortunately under a building site!
Visted Loggos on Paxos yesterday which was
a delighted quiet village with an disused soap factory. We went to Emerald
Bay in Antipaxos today before mooring up for the first time since arriving in
Greece (as opposed to anchoring) at Gaois on Paxos. A quiet non-rolling
night is now in store we hope! |
