I had handed over watch at 07h00 and was sleeping soundly when at 08h50 the
alarm went off, screaming in my ear. I did the usual levitation already
running as I hit the floor and raced to the cockpit.
There I was metby the sight of............ King Neptune in all his glory.
Crown, goggles, mini speedo and all. As his Queen, Afro titty, was absent he
was also wearing her torquise crown to represent her.
I was told my trip in the Southern Ocean was about to end and was welcomed
to the NOrthern Oceans. I was informed needed to be cleansed before I had
permission to enter his Northern Ocean. Made to kneel before the King. I
then had my hair and face rubbed with raw egg and covered in mielie meal.
Sticky and yukky I was then made to jump overboard attached to a line as I
was not premitted to cross the line in a vessel but had to be in the water.
Thus was I towed into the Northern Ocean. Once there I was allowed to open a
beer and gift some to the seas for the Kinds later use and added a biscuit
for the Queens pleasure. :):) :)
The Captain of our yacht was then also required to swim on the Equator and
he did so when we turned around and met yacht Iza. The kings herald called
the on the radio and informed them they were about to enter his domain and
made sure they knew what to do. Little Zoe (7 yrs) got into the spirit and
answered the heralds question over the radio as to where she was from and
her welcome. Little Nina (4 yrs) was over awed and Zoe reported she couldn't
answer the kings request for him to dance for him (as she is known as Nina
Ballerina) because she was crying. The King kindly assured her she was
welcome and wasn't to cry. :) Great fun had by all. Will post photos when we
are back on normal internet.
We then hoisted the spinnaker and are now making good time on route
Trinidad. Or maybe Tobago, we will see when we get closer. :)
