Anchorage 17 – Abraao

We were siting having coffee yesterday morning when we heard a rubber duck approaching. The occupants; no one other than our friends Leon and Nicci and their two little girls Zoe(7) and Nina (3). We met them in Gordons Bay when they came to see Rat Catcher when she was being built. They were looking for a boat at the time and trying to decide what to buy. We knew they were in Brazil as had had a facebook message but we kept missing them so it was wonderful to have them arrive. They were anchored in another part of Saco de Ceu in their Maxim Cat.

It was great to catch up. They had come across starting with the St Helena race in December, then continued on to Salvador and cruised down the coast.

We both needed to come to Abraao so decided to meet there later in the day.

Andre and I had discovered there was a Geocach at Abraao and wanted to find it. We spent the afternoon walking on a trail up to Abraao’s Aqueduct. One cache we found the other not.

At 5pm we motored across to the families boat and spent a delightful evening chatting and swapping cruising tips and plans.
