Well we have
been at sea for two days and a night and as the sun sets our
second night
begins.
The seas are still lumpy and bumpy but having set off rested and
in a better
frame of mind everyone is feeling much better.
We sailed
out with Whales breaching around us and yesterday were joined by a
huge pod
of dolphin who played in out bow waves and doing jumps and spins
for ages.
Then later more dolphin visited us.
As befitting the season we continue
to sail through squalls. Its quite
interesting as our wind sensor broke some
time back and we had to send it to
Sao Paulo to be fixed. Sadly they sent it
back as U.S. (un-serviceable) and
so we have no way of telling the real wind
strength or true direction.
However in Salvador we found a very efficient
basic one we have been using.
See photo below:
Love to
all:
Directions for new Wind sensor:

When it is horizontal its blowing
When it
hangs at 45deg its blowing and raining
When it hangs straight down there
is no wind
If its gone you probably anchored in
Salvador!
