The "graveyard watch" started miserably...it was raining almost constantly and the wind very shifty, up and down, left and right...Until now a very helpful moonlight, although covered by clouds.
Helming while keeping the heavy spinnaker up becomes a very challenging task, my eyes glued on 2 of the instruments, heading and wind direction.
We change helmsman frequently to maintain concentration, while insulting the "spi trimmers" when they invariably get it wrong (usual as you can't see well anyway).
At daybreak we decided to change the chafing halyards, put a bigger spinnaker and gybe all at the same time.... another challenge for a tired and sleepless crew which was completed succesfully.
Just an hour into shuteye, we got called on deck to replace the spi with the heavy one and soon started dreaming of lunch as we have most consumed our energyreserves with so many things going on.
