Well, for the record, I did go ashore in La Vigne but as I mentioned in my last post, I was left with no option but to move on. As such, I have spent the past couple of days in Arcachon and when I’ve got a bit more time, I’ll be happy to tell you all about it. For now though, I can tell you that the dice has rolled again and my next destination beckons.

Taking advice from a friendly local Jean-Marie Bordes, we picked six random coastal ports, anchorages and marinas including, as before, one that is over 1000 miles away and one that is pointlessly close.

All the red dots are those picked for leg 2. The purple ones are from leg 1. So the list is as follows…

1                     Bayonne (Basque / French Region)

2                     Ribadeo (North Spanish Coast)

3                     Ria de Vigo (Northern Spanish region with plenty of dice options within)

4                     Ria de Ares (Northern Spanish region near La Coruna)

5                     Castro Urdiales (Small marina near Bilbao)

6                     Ilha Terceira (Azores)

And, well, I can’t say I’m delighted with the will of the dice but that’s the nature of the game and tomorrow afternoon, I shall be setting sail for Bayonne – just 75 miles down the coast!
