The wind has been infuriatingly light for most of the journey and in fact I've been motoring since yesterday evening when the wind dissapeared altogether. Then, just to spite me I'm sure, as I rounded the very last headland approaching Cascais, a little breeze just started to build and it's now blowing twelve knots... D'oh! So, it is an enormous relief to have made it to an anchorage in Cascais. There is a marina here although it's pretty expensive and to be honest, I don't really need a pontoon with electricity anyway. I've got a shower on board and the solar panels are working well enough to keep the batteries charged for lighting, music and the computer. So, wherever I can, I'm going to try and keep the costs down by avoiding the marinas.

So, I've not been ashore yet but it looks from here like a pretty dynamic little town. Estoril is just up the road and Lisbon a short train ride away so it's in complete contrast to the last stop but should be interesting anyway. All I've discovered so far is that Estoril is home the largest casino in Europe!

I'll catch up with you again soon then when I've had a chance to take a look around.

Bye for now,

Oh, picture? Yes, why not...
