Thank you for the messages to the Iridium, we love reading them :-)

As forecast we had light winds yesterday. We flew the crusing chute for the first time since the Atlantic crossing and we made great speed in light winds. Conditions had been stable so we decided to fly it through the night. This turned out to be the worng decision. The winds increased to F5 during the night and the snubber jammed so we couldn't depower the sail. It was near dawn so we decided to try again when we had more light. Dawn came and we still couldn't de-power the sail. We ended up having to cut the tack line to spill the wind. Joe and Tim did a sterling job getting the kite back on deck - there was a point we thought we would lose it altogether. It's got a couple of rips but otherwise okay. All crew are well after our little drama and we're back sailing with the mizzen and genoa.
