We have a very peaceful departure from the British Virgin Isles - a stark contrast to leaving with the ARC! We topped up with water at the marina, got an ice cream and left.

We had to go round the eastern side of Jost Van Dyke so we used this time to get ourselves organised and hoist the sails. Once passed JVD we could go on our course to Bermuda. We had full sails in 15knots of wind, ideal. We were doing 7-8knots in good seas.

The hydrovane is working well which is much more peaceful way of self steering rather than using the autohelm - plus it doesn't use any power, bonus.

Before the night sail we put 3 reefs in the main, our speed only dropped slightly but it made a big difference to comfort below decks for everyone to sleep. We went back to our watch system of the Atlantic crossing of 3 hours on a 6 off, starting at 7pm with me then Tim then Joe.

Its now 10am, we've completed 125nm in under 24hrs, lets hope this continues!
