We left St. Georges, Bermuda at midday. We needed to go right out and around the huge reef which surrounds Bermudas North and West coastline. The weather was good and we had a sunny start to the passage with full sail up of a couple of hours. Then a big weather system came over and satyed with us until the end of the day. It bought lots and lots of rain plus variable winds going from below 6knts to above 26knts quickly with several wind shifts. We have been sailing with the back on the sprayhood which has worked really well to keep the worst of the rain of us but it was a very wet and windy start to the passage.

The night shifts were much calmer but required several adjustments to the sail and a fair amount of motoring when the wind dropped entirely. Its 10 am and we have just turned the engine off again and are under full sail - albeit a slow sail... I am expecting the wind to drop off even more later today and tomorrow so we'll need to motor again.

All good on board Chula, Lowie and Tim are reading books in the cockpit, Rowan is watching Harry Potter and Joe is resting. I'll be getting the latest weather information at the same time as sending this :-)
