512nm sailed, 133nm to go

All looks on track to arrive tomorrow :-) We crossed the Gulf Stream overnight, at its peak we were being pushed 5kts north so were crabbing across the strongest bit, losing about 35degrees in leeway! The temperature of the sea rose from about 22 degreesC to a peak around 28degreesC. The temperature dropped quite suddently as we went over various mixtures of cold and warm water. We currently still have 1.5kts leeway. NYC has cold water from Greenland as we approach and hopefully we'll lose less ground to the current.

We hoisted the crusing chute in the light winds yesterday but the halyard chaffed through in 2.5hrs and dumped the cruising chute in to the water again :-( All was recovered successfully but we do need to solve the chaf problem on port tack!

Currently steaming along in F5 doing 7kts. Lets see what the forecast has in store for us today...!
