Locagion Update

We are expecting to see land at any time now! We are 20nm from a 'roundabout' where 3 TSS lanes (Traffic Seperation Scheme) join at the mouth of the entrance to the Hudson/ Long Island. From there we will make our way to the south of the bay and tuck ourselves inside Sandy Hook to drop anchor for the night and get some rest. All being well we will move closer to Mahatten tomorrow (Liberty State Anchorage near the Staute of Liberty) where we can do the offical check in etc.

Its been an intersting sail for its geography over the last 24 hours. After crossing the Gulf Stream we entered waters a good 10degrees lower than we have been used to; from a high of 28 degrees to a low of 16 degrees in just a matter of hours. Once in colder waters it took a few hours for the whole boat to cool down; exposed hull now feels cold to the touch and we had condensation form on the cold hull - especially on the portholes which were in direct contact with the water when we were heeled. We are now sailing fully in cold water with a lovely fresh wind, bright warm sunshine with our wolly hats on and trousers for the first time in months!

We should be anchored by dusk tonight but it might take a while for us to get phone data sorted.
