At Blue Lagoon - Yasawas Fiji.
Saturday 20th June 2009 – Blue Lagoon. Yasawas, Fiji.
Who said Fiji was warm and sunny?
We’re currently in Blue Lagoon in the Yasawa group, western Fiji, and we have
the wind gusting 35kts over the deck with rain! This is courtesy of a low
between here and Vanuatu which hopefully will decide to leave us alone over the
next day or so. It’s been with us
for 2 days now though and I think Kat and Mat are running out of movies. Now
wouldn’t that be a disaster! The weather has been exceptional
though until yesterday. We had a great few days at Musket then went over to
Denerau and did a stock up at the markets in Nadi. We stopped at the manta ray
passage for the night on our way up here, but they didn’t oblige us with their
presence either. Maybe on the way back. Had a beautiful day here after we
arrived and we had intended to head further north to “the Caves” the following
day. However the weather did the dirty on us and given this is the best anchorage in
the Yasawas, we’ll stay put until it passes. Went ashore at the local village
yesterday and I think we wound up buying more shells off the women there than
the visiting cruise ship did! The inside of the boat now looks like a beach. Not
much to report, but although the locals are all rugged up in Woolley hats and
anoraks, at least it is still 25 degrees C. Believe it or not – they both made it ashore dry (at Musket Cove). Robbie
as seconded to go ashore and give Mat windsurfing
lessons. Gary and Annie Wilson off a Chuck Paine 63 ‘Anthem’ left and their
guests Alli and David with Robbie and a beautiful Wahoo meal ashore at Blue
Lagoon. Day one and two at Blue
Lagoon. __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4172 (20090619) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com |
