Picnic at Sandy Cay 17th Oct. '09
17thth October 2009 – Musket Cove. A few of the cruisers decided to have a picnic day at
Sandy Cay. Apart from the fact that the little reef a few yards off it offers
some of the best snorkelling in the pacific with countless varieties of
tropical fish to look at, it is different because it is only exposed at or
below half tide. As a result a picnic has to be carefully planned. Tables with
nibbles have to made to float as does the bucket containing the chips and dips.
It shouldn’t be a windy day so the comestibles drift away, and above all
you need good company. The ultimate in al fresco seating. (Ever so very
contemporary.) The floating table with dip ‘n chips in a bucket on

out! (Or is that Stretched out). Eventually our island disappears under the tide and we
head home leaving not even footprints. |
