Passage to Opua - 5th Nov. 2009.
5th November 2009
– Passage to Opua. 1830hrs A quick one as I send off for more grib files. What
joy! Shut down the Perkins with the advent of 10 -15 out of the west
at 4.30pm. Sailing again. Fishguts caught 4 albacore tuna at the same time
(3.30 to 4.30). One of Dons 4 albacore. My loaf of bread turned out perfectly thanks to the
instruction from the bread maestro Gary off Anthem as did the tortilla wraps I
made earlier for lunch. There is intense debate aboard over the tactics for the
last 200 miles, hence sending off for more Gribs, we're sucking the hind tit
with the Italians and Innovation marginally ahead and the irony is, they
probably aren't even aware of it or caring a damn. Do we take a punt and go
east in the event that a SE change will put us to windward and in an
advantageous position or do we go with the rhumb line and hope that the wind
stays in the SW until we get there. To Lob or to Bowl. Anyway rest assured it's
a pleasure to be sailing again. |
