As I write the Peters are indulging in some leadline reformatting which involves behaving like grannies winding wool complete with mindless chatter. We are berthed in the marina at Lødingen primed to watch the world cup final this evening. The weather is miserable outside, damp and foggy so re-winding the leadline is a perfect activity.

Our journey from Tromsø has been mixed, mostly motoring but with a few spells of sailing including a good sailing breeze (2 reefs) during the night. The scenery is very pretty and green compared with the bleak grandeur of Svalbard and it is interesting to be passing so close to the land. Once leaving the Tromsø area we have passed a number of villages and coastal settlements including Karin’s home village.

Inspiration for this blog is lacking today - it must be the dismal weather and surroundings affecting me! Though my fellow crew members are not similarly affected - they tell me. The visitor pontoon here is very unloved, mostly inhabited by local boats with well established and green mooring lines. However, Rachael has explored and found some very good loos and showers - so it’s all alright.
