Well dear reader since my last go at blogging, the edition interrupted by the landing of the fish, “The Famous Five” have  continued their jolly adventure.
It would make good copy to report hair raising sailing on the edge of survival but now we have finally reached the trade winds it is all down wind. At the time of writing this (1500 hrs) we are sailing with a 15 knot wind at 112 degrees travelling generally in excess of 8 kts towards our destination under a blue sky with the occasional scudding white cloud. It is difficult to imaging sailing in the cold and wet of the north.
With 1242 miles to go we thought a small celebration was in order so lunch of the famous Farmers Stew was accompanied by a bottle of better than usual red wine and followed by chocolate and a glass of Martel Cordon Bleu therefore all; meaningful activity has ceased. In the cabin two members of the crew are resting there eyes another is undertaking a similar activity on deck and one is on watch. It goes without saying that as true athletes we are all like coiled springs waiting for the call to action.
Spirits are really high as we are now confident that we have more than enough supplies to finish the journey, there is however some disappointment that weight loss appears to have been minimal.
As the sun slowly settles towards the west we continue towards St Lucia with the vision of cold rum punch driving us forward.
