Patience ARC 2012

Hello again Dear Reader and welcome to another transatlantic sailing adventure. The story so far is:- following the successful crossing in 2010 the crew of honed athletes considered various challenges Everest, North and South Poles among them but on mature reflection considered that a few weeks sitting on a boat in the sunshine was more our style during the European winter. We had a very pleasant delivery to Las Palmas starting with the Jersey La Rochelle race which once again we generously allowed another boat to win. Then from La Rochelle we sailed south enjoying excursions into the Spanish Rias and some pleasant Portuguese ports.

So what of the crew, 4 of the original are here Mike, the owner, Charlie, the fisherman, Alasdair, the boy and Malcolm, the owner controller. We are soon to be joined by a new younger member, Jonathan, coming for work experience and to lower the average age.  The original 4 remain fine specimens of manhood winning admiring glances from the short sighted and recognition of their former rock star status we now have 7 grandchildren and sore knees.

Preparation is well advanced, the water stowed with only little room for the wine and beers. We plan to follow our previous routine of daily celebrity chefs cooking our main meal at lunch from a specially selected list of locally sourced ingredients.  The Owner has been most generous in buying a deep freeze this year which increases our culinary range markedly and which will be refilled with all the tuna and other creatures from the deep that we will land on the boat.

So Patience is into the final stretch for preparation and the crew continue to work at getting themselves into a state of peak fitness.  Unfortunately whenever the feeling for that comes upon one of us he is persuaded to lie down in a darkened room until the feeling goes away so as not to inflict too much physical activity on the rest.  Pictures attached.
