Morgat, France

We spent the morning in Camaret chatting to a lovely couple, John & Tina Freeman, from Taunton in a Rival 36 who we had invited on board for a glass of wine the previous night. They had sailed back from Spain so had lots of information to pass on to us, and kindly lent us their Pilot books for France, Spain and N Africa.  Really kind people; their books will be posted back when we get to the Canaries.

After another morning on the beach in Camaret, we sailed the short distance round the Crozon peninsula to Morgat, a beach resort which I had vague memories of visiting when I sailed this way in 94. It has a lovely wide sandy beach right next to the marina and we immediately got off the boat and walked across the sands.  Unfortunately we are obviously still too far North for the sunny weather to hold for more than 2 successive days and it was quite overcast and cool.

Enjoyed a good night's sleep after the previous night when there was a live music concert on the quay at Camaret (50 metres from the boat) - it wasn't very good live music!  Then found a park for the kids to play in.  They don’t appear to have swings in the parks in France but the girls enjoyed swinging off the rope ladders.
