Finally, we left Bequia and sailed down to Tobago Cays, determined to show Mum and Al the turtles.  We anchored where we had before, and Sarah took Mum and the girls ashore while I had a sleep.  Unfortunately the dinghy got swamped at the beach and they appeared back at the boat in need of G&Ts!

The following day, we went in search of turtles, and nearly ended up drowning poor Mum & Al. There were lots of turtles about and we watched them surface from the dinghy.  It was very windy, and our idea of snorkeling off the dinghy turned out to be not a very good one as Mum & Al couldn’t climb back into the dinghy from the water, and then couldn’t make headway swimming against the wind to the beach.  I managed to tow Al to the beach with the dinghy, then went back and hoiked Mum into the dinghy with a certain lack of dignity offset by a measure of urgency.  It was sobering how quickly a snorkeling trip could have turned into a serious situation.  Luckily everyone was fine.

We decided to head back to Canouan, and had a testing sail back in strong gusty breeze.  We anchored near the beach and Al, Sarah the girls & I went ashore and had a paddle and a cocktail.  The gusts in the anchorage were very fierce and none of us slept well.
