Arrived on Kefalonia at 3pm today at Fiskardho. Beautiful bay with views toward the mountains of Ithaka. Very peacefully moored / long lined to the shore with about 5 other boats….until 5pm when the masses descended. Now hemmed in like on a marina. Charter boat next door came into raft onto his fellow charter boats, but swung 180 degrees then kindly lifted our anchor on his way back out. Charter company rep girl then told us to start our engines and move out their way!  Err…not our job to move and told her so. Gone from 5 boats to 35 in 2 hrs.

On the other side we have the cast of Eastenders who have also got Captain Birdeye aboard. It took 6 of them to land their boat and 30 mins to do so.

They’ve all gone ashore now so peace has returned. This had taken over as our favourite place from Lakka on Paxos but after this evening Lakka has been restored as the place to go. Will stay here tomorrow but won’t sight see from here as not safe to leave the boat with people who like playing dodgems with their boats.

However there are many more fish here than we’ve seen elsewhere and they are bigger too. Threw some bread in for them and a massive shoal came flooding out from under the boat where they were hiding.

Definitely a bit more pricey here. The fake designer sun glasses double the price at 15 Euros.
