Arrived in Preveza to refill water tanks and sample town life for a night before heading south through the Levkas canal.

We had to come here, as due to Andy having 6 showers a day, our water was running low after 5 days at sea…..he does like his hair to look nice (he says its for me).

Spent last night at anchor in a very small bay on Paxos called Mongonisi. Only three boats plus us anchored and a Taverna there. One boat had 4 elderly German blokes who seemed to have forgotten to bring and wear clothes.

After the quiet of Mongonisi it seems very busy here on to the town key with mopeds driving past. It is protected from the sea and its breezes so it feels too hot to sit outside at 4pm. Up to now it’s always been warm, but the sea breeze has stopped any humidity. After 5 days my legs have turned from Scottish White to a shade of Ivory. Perhaps they will eventually go brown by September.

We have been hearing a noise like rice crispies popping under the boat when we stop. It’s been random but here in Preveza it wounds like 5 bowls going off. Andy found an article by some bloke who had had the same problem that it is actually Krill (very small shrimps) eating the algie off the bottom of the boat. Luckily Andy looked at it on the internet as the writer of the article had taken his whole boat apart thinking it was an electrical problem……

Milk here was not designed for tea. Andy has just bought ice so for the first time in a while I don’t have to drink warm G&T or pimms.

Luckily we’ve run out of proper food so get to go out for dinner 2nite.

Still been rowing but guess I won’t get recruited for any races. Trying the justify that I burn enough calories to have a drink……
