Sunday Roast

The wind has been very light over the weeekend and we have been going slowly, however this gave us the chance to have traditional Sunday..or as  traditional as one can be over 1600 nautical miles from the nearest land and on 50ft X 15ft long platform which wobbles a lot!

Firstly the crew awoke to bacon sandwhiches prepared by the skipper, just crispy as the Applins like them....then a beer at lunchtime although this wasnt quite in a quaint country pub..but it was ice cold and on a bloody nice terrace with an excellent sea view!

And then late afternoon the captain produced roast pork with apple sauce (childrens first time which they thought wierd!), roast potatoes, carrots and peas with a lot of gravy..much approval to this, we dressed especially in our best underwear.

Just as we were about to round off with the Tot, the fishing rod 'buzzed' we had something huge, turned out to be a 20-25lb Wahoo................RESULT!! this time we killed it with alcohol in the gills whic was much less dramatic than the skipper chasing a slippery fish around the deck wirh a winch handle.

And so to the tot.......absent friends!, we thought of Chris and Mark, they would of loved this!

During the night another ship, this time 3 miles off ( a relative 'near miss,) and the most disturbing film that I have ever seen..I'm Still Here with Jaoquin Pheonix....if you havent seen it dont!!! and to think he played Johnny Cash!........a very very bad advert for drugs ... the Rhianna video makes them look a lot more fun!
