We Still Havent Gone Ashore

You know when someone wins X factor and then says that since their feet havent touched the ground!! Well this is true for us, okay okay we have achieved a lot more than just winning a singing show by having a funny hair cut I know, but we literally have not touched the ground. In fact we havent been off the boat otehr than to swim!.

After Fatu Hiva we motored on Friday to Hiva Oa and arrived as ususal just after sunset! It had been difficult to tear ourselves away from such a beautiful place! As we approached a strange Geordie approached in a dinghy yes it was Tom acting as temporary habour master and with the help of Aston manned at the navigation station shouting directions we managed to anchor in total blackness.

The crew of Morning Glory and Heather arrived ..minus Arthur with dinner!!! Neeedless to say we had a few drinks and had a great time until 10 when the skippper was tired (pathetic I know but 3 hours a night does tend to catch up with one!). The children all stayed aboard and carried on partying until 3 am!!!!

The next morning, Saturday, we ushered everyone off of the boat to go to town and check in , only to be told byb Tom and Arthur that it was closed today. This meant that we agreed instead to go wit them to yet another island. The beautiful (I will stop saying this, take it as read that every island is gorgeous!!) Tahuata. WE anchored in Touatahi, in turquiose water over sand. As we stopped a manta ray swam out beside us. Baracca were already here and after an hour Morning Glory arrived. Within 10 minutes Arthur now back on form sswam over with a bottle of rum. Phaedra had been saying the night before that she would do ANYTHING for rum...evidently Mr Hoag had heard about this. Tom followed on behind and then Atlanta Rivers and Ami swam across! After collecting Heather to complete the party you guessed it..we started drinking again.

It has been a fantastic welcome     and the islands could not be better but we are looking forward to talking to a person and eating in a restaurant..before too long!!

Lastly..to our discrace we find that we dont have a French courtesy flag!!!! a boat based in Mallorca with a French skipper and now owners who live in France. We apologise to that great nation and specifically to Bellinda and Olivier!!!! Sorry.

Love from Nakesa
