Complete Darkness

Total power failure last night!!! meant that we could not steer by autopilot or adjust sails...we felt a little vunerable, traced to a blown main fuse so wired across it as we have no spares of this type after last one blew in Antigua. Let there be light...and there was light (quote AC/DC sampled by God for the bible)

Aston and Atlanta great in a crisis and helped emptying wet locker....an obvious place for the main electrical board!!!!...and handing me tools whilst sparks flew!!!! Then generator failure this morning!!! Typical life at sea.... hey hoh!!!!........ and both boom preventers blew their (very expensive)  jamming blocks last night with no explanation!!! age perhaps...we are actually beginning to see the wear and tear of 20,000 miles, poor Nakesa will need some TLC soon..and full replacement of all USA work. The last thing that we bought in US that hadn't failed was the anchor chain...but the galvanising has now worn off that after only 8 months use so it is rusty and will need replacing..
LESSON...................DONT EVER EVER HAVE ANY WORK DONE IN THE USA!!!!!
Okay now to lunch and a saturday afternoon off...only 89 miles to Palmerston Atoll!

Wishing you a good weekend

Love
