Aitutaki

After starting the trip in a full gale we ended beaclmed and motoring, arriving in Aitutaki at around 0830..I didnt raise the crew and they awoke to stillness and sunshine!
We were asked to move from the anchorage to a mooring to protect the coral which when we upped anchor we had obviously snagged...ooops, there was lots of scrapes and rumbles.
I went ashore and cleared in. The first shock being Polynesians with  abroad New Zealand accent..gone were the soft singing French voices, but the natives werer friendly and before long even a car hire was arranged. The fun thing was that the collection from the Tourist Information to the car hire office meant driving the whole length of the island on its only road, so that  when we actually had the car there was nothing to do!!!
We drove around visiting hotels and enjoying bar snacks until evening and then went to dinner (at the car hire place) and to a hotel for a fantastic drum dancing and fire show which was amazing and eneded with a great finale of Aston and me being pulled up to dance with two very sexy hula girls..........we were GREAT!!!!
