We have been motoring since 01.00am in the lee of Puerto Rico. Southerly winds are quite unusual here but we are enjoying the calm and sunshine while we can. Apparently there is 20 to 30 knots of wind ahead as the southerly wind accelerates through the Mona Passage between Puerto Rico and Dominican republic. Difficult to believe at the moment.

We had a small hiccup last night when one of our engines wouldn't start at the changeover. We run one at a time alternately (fuel economy!). It appeared to be a sticky starter motor and Roy worked some magic and it is working fine now  (I am touching wood as I write!).

The plan is to go to the Turks and Caicos and not Luperon as the really bad weather in the Bahamas is staying further North before it dissipates. We should arrive Friday morning.
