> Minca is only 45 minutes away from Santa Marta, still in Magdalena province, but it's a different place entirely. We spent a great few nights there, staying in beautiful Sweet Harmony hotel, enjoying the beautiful views of the surrounding Sierra Nevada foothills; the lower temperature (around 27°C daytime and A/C nightime) was very welcome, as was the clean, mountain air. It's not long since Minca became a tourist destination, but they are well equipped with motorbike-taxis and plenty of restaurants...we took a day trip to the high Picos to see the amazing views right to the coast, and to visit La Victoria finca or coffee farm and processing plant...very interesting, and Pozo Azul swimming holes on the Minca river. The people we met were, as in Santa Marta, very warm, friendly and real...very relaxing place. 🗻 🎄 🍃 🐦
