Title: Leaving Bayona

We left Bayona at about 11 30 this morning and will soon be heading back into dolphin territory.  It would have been nice to have had more time to look around the town because there were some fascinating gothic-looking buildings there and judging by the amount of witches on sale in the gift shops it seems the place may have some legends and folklore associated with it.  It's another gorgeous sunny day and it feels good to be back on the sea.  The autohelm has been such a boon and has performed so well we felt it, too should have a name so it is now referred to as Simon.  With Bella the parasail, the crew is now complete :)  The dolphins have been one of the obvious highlights of this trip, especially when we saw masses of them in one group leaping purposefully forward just before we got to Bayona yesterday--I don't think I'll ever tire of watching them.  Other highlights have been the sunrises I've seen when doing a 4 until 8 watch which have been breathtakingly beautiful, and the eerie fog we sailed through on Monday morning; I also sat on the bow a couple of days ago as the boat pitched through the waves and it was more exhilerating than any fairground ride.  Aside from all that I have been learning more about sailing, ropework and navigation (well more than I thought I would understand anyway).  Paul predicts that we will reach Portugal late Friday night or Saturday morning but I'm slightly more optimistic and have predicted Friday morning so we'll see who's nearest.
Bye for now,
