06th September 2010
16.00hrs
10 miles south of Las Palmas

Tough passage winds in excess of 35knots with lumpy seas and heading straight into it -Wind/Tide/Swell/Acceleration Zone, you name it
So with all that going on we pick up a rope wrap around the propeller and rope cutter/shaft
Heavy grinding sound that reduces when revs reduced so continue on for further two hours
No chance in those conditions going down to have a look so very slowly we carry on
arriving after 10 hrs around 18.00
Stayed on waiting pontoon and planned to come out on the 7th
But did manage to contact some help for a dive to look at problem
Went out for a steak at a pretty smart restaurant to make up for problems and tiring sail
Good to be in Las Palmas although with unknown underwater problems (could be Gears)
this will not be a picnic here i think
