KNIGHTRIDER BULLETIN DAY 7 - SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER

Yes this report does contain a medical bulletin as well as as updating current events.  It was Saturday night last night and the crew were up till the wee small hours - doing what? well watch duty of course which was easy in a moon lit sky.  No drink, tobacco or partying (especially CJ for the latter) has been indulged but Skipper Hoff keeps the crew moral strong overnight by supplying a goodie box.  This contains a carefully counted number of small chocolates and a larger number of what he calls sweets.  These "sweets" look more like ear plugs and taste of fruit flavoured ear wax, still they keep us happy till day break.  We celebrated the end of the first week at sea by baking a Betty Crocker Carrot Cake and it turned out not bad considering MediHoff refused to remove his rubber glove during the mixing. The medical update is that Peter Van Dam Hofferdommer's thumb has largely grown back overnight leaving only a minor cut. Two crew members got a gold star for personal hygeine for throwing buckets of sea water over each other to remove some of the week's fungal growth, others did not see the need for washing so early into the trip. We are now holding a competition to see who can wear the same teashirt for the greatest number of days (answers on a clean post card please).  THe madness, as expected, continues to refine, exacerbated by The Hoff insisting that we put in a Gybe - two in a week! (slave labour if you ask me).  Captain Kitt's fondness for sharp instruments continues and he was reported to be seen stabbing a dead flying fish with a screwdriver then binding it with wire and attaching a large spike to it.  For dinner CHoff made a lovely beef stew but with pork - a direct result of exposing too much of his flesh to us and the sun.  CJ still has that strange smile while throwing potato peelings and salt at people- luckily the video of this this will be on sale after the finish, at a discounted price of 50 quid to you. MediHoff continues to enjoy wearing his rubber glove. And Peter V D H has taken to wearing womens clothing on his head. Moving swiftly on, we continue to enjoy great sailing conditions putting us well ahead of schedule and we are hoping to reach both the halfway in distance (1400Nm) and half the longitude (37.5 degrees west) within the next 36 hours - maybe a treat of double ear wax to come!
