Knightrider Bulletin Day 13

Yo!Ho!Ho! and a bottle of sun-cream me hearties. The theme for today: ‘’ A lure a day, keeps the Tuna at bay’’. The Three Amigos started early on the poop deck this morning just after 8 bells. Taking pity on them, and perhaps hoping for recognition and glory, El Hoff visited the Inner Sanctum and from somewhere, produced something ‘special’ in the form of a fancy lure, optimistically called ‘’KILLER’’. You all know what’s coming don’t you?

Yes, sad to report but, at 17 bells or thereabouts, (local time), there was a loud noise which heralded not only the disappearance of the lure  -  ‘’Bye bye, KILLER!’’, but Rod as well, snapped like a twig, such was the size of the unseen behemoth from the deep.  So, Day 13.  Lucky for some eh?  Personally, I continue to be quietly happy that the cockpit remains clean and not like a gory scene from one of Quentin Tarantino’s films. UGH.

Are you all following the weather forecasts for your heroes here on the BBWT ? Well just between us, a forecast of MAX gusts of 25 knots, does not always mean MAX 25. Last night we were bobbing along gently and still heading West (it’s the only way actually), the wind got up a tad, and then a tad more with the wind indicator thingy not bothering to pause at the promised 25 mark... nor even the 35 mark... so at 41knots, yours truly was fully back in 2 hands and buttocks clenched mode. In future I don’t think I’ll write about calm seas... you never know WHO is reading this tripe!

Saturday, which in reality is just another day has been pretty peaceful, with music blasting in the cockpit, just like a holiday. This is an early start to the Bulletin, so dinner is being prepared as I write. With no apparent irony, the choice tonight is canned tuna with some of the trimmings. Trimmings are becoming a little more scarce at the moment.

With the less than successful outing of the Big Dog yesterday, it seems like he had the last laugh since at few bells this morning, our cruiser was flying only a token, hanky sized mainsail. It seems that the ‘Dog has powers we don’t yet understand!

Yours truly, is back on watch at 44 bells and some sleep would be nice, but try sleeping on a trampoline with all the kids from the street playing on it at the same time. You get le picture. I am utterly convinced that, having mastered pouring out a cup of tea while riding a bucking bronco, when we reach land, I will have a lot of trouble pouring tea into a cup which doesn’t move. Get the kitchen roll ready!!!

Anyway dear readers, you are now fully up to date in the world of the legendary
