We arrived at La Coruna marina at 8.00pm

The fog finally lifted when we were about 10miles out and we got our first sight of land for 6 days. It is fascinating and a bit scary coming into a new harbour for the first time, you are never quite sure what to expect. All we had for navigation was the chartplotter world map, which is a very simple chart with a few features but no detail that comes with the plotter. To get the detail you have to buy the electronic chart.

My almanac said there was a new marina in the harbour, so we called them up about 0.5 mile out, and were very surprised to get an Irish voice returning our call. The marina is big and mostly empty so I expect there were some smiles when I asked if they had any room!. I was on the other side of the breakwater then so couldn't see how much space there was. Any way we were directed towards a holding pontoon where one of the staff waved us round to where the berth was. He then cycled off to meet us and there were two of them at the berth ready to take our lines. (Obviously the extra care was to stop us denting their lovely marina!!) We are both very impressed with the facilities and friendliness of the marina. Also 54 Euro for 4 nights including electricity, wi-fi and showers isn't bad either.

So today we are doing tidying and getting Justine Gabrielle ship shape again then a bit of an explore while we just chill out a bit.
