The main feature of the last two and a half days has been almost continuous fog varying from 0.5mile to 1.5miles visibility. In fog the AIS really comes into its own. We can see the positions of all the big ships around us and the plotter works out how close each one will come. We have called two ships up to make sure they knew we were there and it was reassuring to hear one of them say he had us on radar at 6 miles range on a course of 158. He passed about half a mile behind us - we could hear his engines but didn't see anything. The only thing to watch out for is small fishing boats and other yachts!!

The worst thing about fog apart from not being able to see anything is how much all our clothes get wet from the condensation. There has been just enough brightness today to dry things out but we could do with some proper sunshine to get rid of all teh dampness. (Where is the tumble dryer when you need it most)

About 10am the wind died completely so we have ben motoring since then (it's now 5pm) we have just over 15 miles to go so are expecting to be in around 7.30pm to 8.00pm. The marina has wi-fi apparently so we should be able to post more info on the trip and a few photos hopefully when we are ashore

The next entry should be from dry land - looking forward to it!!
