Day Twelve at Sea - 05/12/14

Trade Wispers again so burning diesel to head West. Conscience pricks particularly if it looks like Skip might make his plane and then the white things go up the yards. Most watch-keepers had a dreamy night with gibbous waxing moon becoming full illuminating the calm 10-15kt sea-scape. We passed a sail training ship the Lord Nelson in the dark - she was doing 3kts to our 4.5kts - but it was three times the weigh and made 120 years ago. Discovery have learnt a thing or two in that time.

Boat-wash was the theme of the work dockets and enthusiastically begun. We actually found a toothbrush in the deck washing equipment; I kid you not readers. It will not make a reappearance.

Did a sextant run through for a meridian sun sighting today. Skip very pleased that it put him within 5nm of our actual. Might actually work when that lightning storm arrives.

We are exactly half-way between the two continents of Africa and the Americas now - 1,260nm from land either side. Hmmmm.

Blog being kept intentionally short (and sans photo) so it doesn't overload the carrier pigeon (or crazy gander) delivery system we are operating.

Summary:
No fish
No breakages
No wind
No blog
No worries
