Thursday - ‘It’s summertime and the living is easy…’ – the fish may be jumping but the scene outside Amble harbour is more like December than August.  The ferocious waves and big swell confirm the decision to stay in Amble so we concentrate on keeping both ourselves and Juniper as dry as possible – no easy task as the wind is blowing rain through one of the deck connections and the water is then running along the head linings and dripping in different places depending how the boat is lying.  The other issue is wet clothing and we’re beginning to resemble a second-hand clothes shop with stuff drying everywhere.  Hey ho, at least there’s plenty of time to dream of hot baths and agas!
