51:57.61N 01:10.65E Ohhhh, for a life on the ocean waves, de dum, de dum, de dum – what a perfect day we’ve just had!  Set off from Lowestoft 0810 and out to warm sunshine, calm sea, no wind and 4 kts of tidal stream in our favour.  Down with the sprayhood, off with the coat, hat and gloves and luxuriate in not being bounced around.  After a couple of hours of motoring (during which time I saw what I assume was a porpoise), the wind got up gently and gradually increased, allowing us to sail full sail all the way to Shotley marina and arrive 3 hours early.  Luckily access is 24 hour through a lock (floating cleats to tie to, what a clever idea) and the marina is lovely, very peaceful as we tied up in the sun, even a cuckoo calling.  Now we’re off to meet Jan and Eddie, long time friends who live nearby, for a drink and meal.
