55: 37.66N 06:11.31W, Apologies if you’ve emailed me, there’s been no internet access for a while.  Thursday morning and yet another new shipping forecast area, Mull of Kintyre to Ardnamurchan Point.  After a pleasant night in Glenarm alongside a Scottish yacht named Skerryvore we left just before 1000 to wind on the nose. Skerryvore followed us out but chose a different route.  Heading towards the Mull of Kintyre we had ‘mist rolling in from the sea’ which seemed very appropriate but challenging as we had to cross the North Channel traffic separation scheme.  However, we got to sail in the afternoon and arrived in Port Ellen to find ourselves next to… Skerryvore - we’re very jealous as they saw 3 whales on their journey.  Who cares, we’re in Scotland and we now have a purse full of strange bank notes, from the Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and now Scotland.  I like the relaxed attitude here on Islay (home of Laphroaig whisky by the way) – we pay for our mooring at the Spar shop, and showers are available at the B&B.
