What a difference a day makes!

Juniper sailing round GB

Monday, normal weather is resumed and we wake to thick fog.  As we make breakfast we’re asked to move off the buoy (fishing vessels have priority) so we pick up another buoy while we eat and decide what to do.  We agree to poke our nose outside St Ives Bay in the hope the fog will clear and then make for Newquay.  But the fog is determined to stay and the engine isn’t developing full power so we’re creeping along at 2 knots, so we turn and head back into St Ives, this time into the harbour and pick up a buoy so that we can dry out.   All the inner workings of the engine are checked and found to be fine so we wait for the water to drop – bingo!  Photos: Juniper drying out on the beach and displaying the offending article round the prop.
