50:47.85N 01:07.09W Away by 0700 and a nice breeze from the north gave us a speedy beam reach all past Brighton and the West Sussex coast.  Mind you, I’ve decided that a sailor is never satisfied, a northerly wind meant I had my back to the coastline!  A good day ending in warm sunshine as we made our way up the East Solent, passing between the wartime forts of Horse Sand and No Man’s Land and watching with awe the procession of ferries, ships, yachts and motor boats moving about this huge area.  Tied up in Gosport marina by 1630 ready to meet Gordon’s brother over from France for a meal and catch-up.  Photos – close encounters of the scary kind!
