Dear Reader (I hope somebody is there)
Numpty no more!!!. Forget yesterdays mail about the binoculars as I found
them last night when the starboard bunk extended itself in a big wave. I had
tucked them behind the cushion. Total miles yesterday was 116 again by log
and most of them more or less in the right direction although I am east of
my ideal track.
A front came through last night just as it was getting dark and I had to
reef twice and roll away most of the jib to handle the waves kicked up by F6
winds. Self steering coped well and I spent most of the time laying on the
downhill bunk with the hatch closed. I heard quite a few waves break over
but it was quite cosy below and I only had to pop my head out every 20
minutes to check for traffic, which is almost non existant now. The sea
state was a lot worse than normal as I was on the junction of the deep water
and the continental shelf.
Slept in a bit this morning and woke to sunny sky and lighter wind so shaken
out all but one reef in main and full genny and we are gently going over the
atlantic rollers.
Now iv'e got the binoculars back there is nothing to look
at................cest la vie!
Thats it for now
