Days run by log 101 miles
Dear Reader,
Well what a day that was yesterday. Dark, raining, winds to 25 to 30Kts, and
very confused sea. I cant count the number of times waves broke over the
boat. I could see them from the main saloon hatch. All I could do was stick
my head out of the hatch every 1/2 hour to check all was ok. The rest of the
time it was safer on the downwind bunk. All this and I still had to drive
the boat onward to try to make landfall tomorrow.
What a difference this morning. I shook out all the reefs and laid a course
for the port in hazy sunny skies with light 15 Kt winds. Too good to be
true? Yep the wind started to die and now its blowing very light straight
from the direction I want to go and I'm still 15 miles away, if I could go
in a straight line. Well I reckon it will take another 10 hours or more to
get in if nothing changes. I don't want to put the engine on and disqualify
myself but we will have to wait and see?
Tune in tomorrow to see if I'm bobbing about in limbo or having a cold beer
in paradise.
